The Pros and Cons
Beyond Meal Plans…
pro and cons of a meal plan and why you might need it
People often assume that to lose weight, they just need to be told what to eat.
this is hardly effective because eating is something we do daily
you need to learn to eat in a way you enjoy while still building a strong, happy, and healthy body
You may get results sticking to a meal plan, but you will not learn how to sustain that result
so you will likely fall back to your normal eating pattern
Yet
I can understand why people want meal plans...
like when you were a child and your parents showed you how to cook or do things a certain way.
you most likely did not learn how to do things, you just went through the motion to get the job done,
without enjoying or even understanding why they are done that way
if you continue cooking that way you may never enjoy cooking ever
by making your diet harder than it should be, you are making your journey unenjoyable
something you cannot sustain for a long time
I love to see both sides of things
let us look at whether you might prefer a meal plan and how you can stick to a meal plan
Here are five reasons to stick to a meal plan:
They save you from thinking too much
We make hundreds of decisions a day, mostly food decisions
As the day goes on, sticking to our preferred food becomes harder to do
following a meal plan make it easy to decide o what to eat when you are tired or stressed
They are Easy to use
It is very easy to follow a plan. It's not something you have to overthink. There is no need to track calories or calculate macros.
This is a good option for those who don't want to track.
If you are not in the mood to always write down every meal, or track on your phone.
when you stick to a meal plan that is tailored to your goal, and keeps you nourished
you will hardly go off track
Following a routine.
Having a routine means less thinking. makes fat-loss easier
Saves money
You can plan your week, and buy all you need so you hardly have to but on the street or have to eat out
The most important part is:
There is a way to get all the benefits of a meal plan without having to over-restrictive or develop anxiety because you went off track
Your meal plan should be personalized, to your preference, your environment, and other factors that would make things easier for you
Different kinds of food and you should be willing to change your options from time to time
It works because it helps you stick to a deficit.
The plan or reason for a meal plan is to help you stick to a calorie requirement or health reason, whatever the reason maybe
So you can explore other ways of eating once in a while without disturbing your goals
